Monday Morning Makes Me Sleepy

Game day weekends are always a blast. I love watching UGA play. It is half the reason I love fall. Okay, maybe not quite half. Any who. Our weekend was full of fun stuff. We had my sisters and my dad over to watch the Tennessee vs UGA game. The only Vols fan in the house was my dad. I'd say he was out numbered.

The house was full of red and black, as you can see below. Food was made, and our new giant TV had been picked up and was ready to go. We spent the day watching football and talking about our childhood. We play the old frogger on an even older Nintendo game set. My older sister is still the best at video games.

Oh, I forgot. UGA won.

Sunday was spent doing what I do best, eating and shopping. We had lunch with my dad and sister, then we headed out so I could find a dress for our cruise that we leave for in 18 days. (WHAT?) I know. I'm super late in the shopping department, but I did find a dress and it will be here by the 8th, so score.

When all that fun was over, C headed downtown to watch some of the Iron Man race. I decided not to go because I was tired, and I don't do crowds when I'm cranky. He loved it though. I'm really hoping I go next year. Those athletes are amazing.

Yeah, the crowd would have been the death of me. Our weekend was fun, but it went by way to fast. I'd like to do more over the weekends. Is it just me or are fall weekends shorter?

I rambled today. Obviously my mind isn't awake yet. Happy Monday!

It Is Saturday In Athens!

Obviously, today is Tuesday, not Saturday. I wanted to make sure I posted about my weekend, especially since I had such an awesome weekend! A great weekend is hard to come by during this time of year because we are so busy with other things. But it it is officially fall UGA Football season, and that makes everything better. In the south, there 4 seasons, Winter, Spring, Summer, and Football. We take football seriously here in the south, and my family is no different. So here is how our weekend went.

This cute little girl is learning to hate riding in the car. We have traveled for the past several weekends, and I am pretty sure she is sick of it. Good news Chaco. We are staying home this weekend!

When we stopped to grab something to eat, this happened. Obviously his lifted Ford F350 needed to take up not one, but 2 of the compact parking spots because the 10 other regular spots weren't close enough to the door. It really made me mad.

Saturday we got up early to head to the in-law's house so we could head to Athens, GA. While I was raise a Tennessee Vols fan, I quickly came to my senses when we moved to GA, and I proudly became a UGA Bulldogs fan. In all my years of being a UGA fan, I had never seen a game at Sanford stadium.I was excited probably more than anyone else.

Our seats were awesome, and I was pleased that I could actually see what was going on.

The game was great and UGA won 66-0 vs Troy. It was a complete blast to watch. I am now a firm believer that the best Saturday is spent in Athens, GA. The excitement was unbelievable. There is nothing quite like cheering on the Dawgs in the stadium.

And as always, many pictures were taken. I can honestly say that this will not be the last game I attend.

It was really awesome to share this experience with my in-laws. They are both UGA alumni, so After the game, we walked around campus.

C's last UGA game was in 2005. When he was there, UGA won, but his brother didn't wait around for him to ring the church bell, so when UGA won this game, C made sure to ring that bell enough for the past 9 years. I'd say the look on his face says it all.

And since we were in Athens, a picture at the arch had to happen. Talk about a great memory. I was so thankful to my in-laws for showing me around. It was great to bond with them. When you get married, you marry into your spouse's family, and I really think that it is important to spend time with your in-laws. Although our relationship started off rocky, I can honestly say that I really think I had an amazing set of in-laws. They have taught me so much about life, love, and commitment. I am extremely blessed to have them as family.

Oh, and we obviously practiced the "walking selfie." I'd say my skills are improving.

Sunday was spent relaxing. I am so glad I bought some sweat pants when we were at UGA because those things are the most comfortable. And any way I can show support for my team is fine by me.

Like I said before, I was raised a Vols fan, and I will gladly pull for then when they play against anyone but UGA. This Saturday, the Vols will travel to Sanford Stadium to play UGA. While I live in Tennessee, my team is in GA. I am surrounded by Vols fans at work though, and I am happy to report that I have worn a UGA shirt yesterday and today. I also have more UGA attire to wear the rest of the week, with an extra special shirt planned for Friday.

I hope y'all are off to a great start this week! I know I am. And to all my fellow UGA fans. Go Dawgs!

Apparently I Don't Blog On Time

So last weekend, many things happened. But since it is alright Friday again, I'll just give you a super short version, then the few pictures I actually took. Okay? Okay!

Friday we did what has become the normal for us, we headed to GA. Saturday, C was "supposed to help his dad build a shed." Instead, his parents had planned a surprise birthday party for me. I'm not going to lie, I jumped when they yelled "Surprise." I never expected it, and it was by far the sweetest thing they have done for me. We traveled home Saturday evening and watched the Georgia vs South Carolina game. Sad loss, but I expected it. Sunday meant Target which also meant the first PSL of the season. Chattanooga had a really rare WW2 ship docked downtown for about a week, so Sunday we went down to see it. The line was about 10 years long, so we didn't tour it, but it was just awesome to see a part if history. And it made for a great date! Then the day turned bad when I found a huge spider. Leave it to Sunday to scare me half to death.

Our week was busy with work working out, and packing for our cruise! Our weekend is going to be awesome. We are once again on our way to GA, but this time, we are hoping to have more fun! Have a great weekend!

It Took Me 2 Days To Turn 25.

I'm kinda back. After taking some time off, and only posting on rare occasions, I feel like my soul searching has done me well. On to the important stuff, a week late.

So my birthday was September 6th. Obviously I started celebrating on Friday.

I achieved complete #whitegirlstatus on Friday morning. I ate pumpkin spice cookies with my pumpkin spice coffee complete in a pumpkin mug. Fall is here even if the temperature says otherwise.

Cookies were going to be the only breakfast I ate, until someone brought biscuits. If someone brings you one, you have to eat it right?

I got a special delivery of not one, but two vases full of flowers. These were from my in-laws.

These were from my husband.

I also got to eat cake for lunch Friday because I can. We celebrated with mine and C's birthday with my dad Friday night before heading to GA to spend the night with my sister.

I woke up to birthday kisses from this sweet girl. She totally knew Saturday was an important day.

Saturday we spent the day with my mom's side of the family. Again, we celebrated mine and C's birthday. He got a Ninja Turtle one piece pajama thing, and I swear it was the most awesome gift ever. Look for this on Christmas morning.

My mom also made us cupcakes, and they were amazing. Since I had been fighting some serious sinus stuff, we actually headed home on Saturday making the weekend feel that much longer. Sunday was spent cleaning and doing laundry. though now I think I should have extended my birthday just one more day and made a weekend out of it.

Here is to year 25!

Have You Forgotten?

I haven't logged into my blog account in well over a week, at least not from a computer. Mostly because I have been fighting a nasty cold.

13 years ago, I was in the process of being checked out of school as the news was showing the first plane hit the towers. The principle had announced for all teachers to turn on the TV. I watched as the plane ran into the building, and I immediately thought something had happened and the pilot had died and no one could fly the plane, so it just ran into the building. Then the second plane hit. I knew then something was seriously wrong. Though in my young age, I had no idea what it really meant. The front office called my teacher to let them know I was being checked out. Together, my mom and I traveled to some office, though I don't remember what for. I sat in the front watching the news unfold. I saw the tragedy. Later, I would realize what it all meant.

9/11/2001 shook me to my core for years. So much so that I had all plans to join the military as soon as I could. God had a different plan for me, and I didn't join the military. Several people thought that the war was not needed. They were angry that troops were deployed for so long. I don't ever recall feeling that way. I remember telling a friend years later that I highly doubt that our brave men and women in the military have forgotten what they are fighting for.

Our freedom is not free. We must remember that. 2 years ago, we lost 4 in the Benghazi attacks. And today, we are having to deal with ISIL. I am afraid our country is getting comfortable again, and that leaves us vulnerable. We live in a world where evil is everywhere. It is a scary thought. I don't want to deal with another terrorist attack, but I feel it is inevitable. That is why it is so important to remember 9/11 everyday and not just on the anniversary.

I haven't forgotten. I haven't forgotten how it felt to see the towers fall. I haven't forgotten what our soldiers fight for. Have you?

9/11. Never Forget.

Labor Day Weekend!

I am going to recap a little more than Labor Day weekend. But first, let me just say that we are officially 44 days away from vacation, and I just happen to be 3 days away from turning 25. What? How did time go by so fast?

On to the last Thursday. One of the ladies at work has decided to help  me get motivated and she and I are working out for about 20 minutes before work every day, alternating arms and legs each day. I didn't want to even think about working out, but I am glad I did.

I left work Thursday and headed straight for the doctor. I spent well over 2 hours there, just to be told it was a sinus thing. When I got home, I gathered some essentials, and stayed in bed watching Christmas with the Kranks because I needed some cheering up.

Friday, I was surprised when I walked in my office to find that I am now official. One of the ladies I work with ordered this for me, and let a little birthday elf deliver it. I've been wanting one for a while, but I never could decide on one, so I am glad she picked it for me. I couldn't be happier!

Friday also meant playing with my food. I bought a bag of the white chocolate candy corn M&M's and I remembered just how yummy they were. I may or may not have eaten the entire bag.

Saturday, I just wanted to sleep in, but that just wasn't going to happen. We had plans later in the day, so this was the first time in a while I was getting to sleep in. Both the sun, and my sinuses laughed at me.

Side note, this girl has a slight addiction to MK. Not pictured are a rose gold watch, 3 bags, and my favorite sunglasses.

Saturday was also the kick off of UGA season, so wearing my old worn out jersey was a must. I think it is time to retire this one and find a new one.

The house was decorated for UGA season, and we kicked off the game with wings, beer, and of course, even more UGA items.

Sunday was the 5th anniversary of the proposal, and I got to actually sleep in! We missed church, but I finally got that "NyQuill" sleep. C did surprise me thought with a trip to the Tennessee Valley Railroad to start off our plans.

I had been dying to go, and I can honestly say that I need to borrow a kid so that I can do the "Polar Express" style thing they have around Christmas so I don't look like a creeper.

After a great lunch at Steve's and going to get my hair styled for the night, it was time to get ready for dinner. I had bought a new outfit, and couldn't decide on a top, and well, I took to social media.

The top one won out. C rocked the same shirt he proposed to me in, and then we headed out!

Yet another side note, I finally felt like I had an outfit worthy of the "fashion blogger" pose. Now that I look at it, I might be wrong.

We tried for Tony's restaurant, but the wait was way too long, so we headed to Blue Water.

The Blue Cheese Chips were amazing.

So was the Pomegranate Martini.

And my husband was extra handsome.

After dinner we walked around until my feet couldn't take it anymore.

Monday, we spent all day hanging around the house, doing laundry, and enjoying the day off. Though, I am pretty sure that it made Tuesday that much worse when we had to go back to work. The weekend, even with an extra day, is never long enough.

I hope y'all had a great Labor Day Weekend!
