Teething, Waiting, and a Laundry Monster

I should post a Thankful Thursday, but I am just in a thankful mood. Sure I am thankful for several things, it is just today I am more bitter than usual.

I feel horrible for all those teething babies out there. Why you ask? Because my wisdom teeth on the left side are breaking through some more and it sucks. I know I teethed as a baby, but I am so glad I don't remember it. Oh man how it hurts!!

I'm also pretty bitter about the fact that our cruise is so far away. Why?? Because it is 3 months and 22 days away, and that is just far too long! We booked this cruise back in January, and it seems like it is taking forever to get here. And not to mention, I really need a vacation where I can lay on the beach with a yummy cocktail and just soak up the sun.

The laundry monster decided to make a mess of my house. Okay, it really wasn't the Laundry Monster, it was/is the Lazy Cait Monster. I have clothes folded at the end of my bed that I haven't put up in over a week. I have a hall full of dirty clothes because I am too lazy to go get the hamper out of the kitchen to put them in, and the towels that are folded in my living room have been sitting there for almost 3 weeks!! usually I love laundry, but it has just been getting on my nerves, and now it is crunch time because I have to do all the laundry and put it up so I can pack for our family trip this weekend. #waitinguntilthelastminute

But on a much brighter note, I am in love with the idea behind the Cara Box. I have met 2 lovely ladies who I will be getting to know over the next month. Tiffany is just simply hysterical. I have really loved reading her blog, and I am really looking forward to getting to know her! And Erin is a girl after my own heart!! She is also a TN girl, though she is a Vols fan. Don't worry Erin, I won't hold that against you. We have just emailed a little bit back and forth, but I am really looking forward to getting to know her more. She has an adorable baby girl, an amazingly decorated home, and a love for Chick-Fil-A. This is me sending you a virtual CFA meal. I really look forward to the next month while emailing back and forth with these two ladies, and then seeing the exchange at the end of the month! I already know a few things I am going to send to Tiffany!!

Okay, wow, just writing about that put me in a better mood, though my teeth still hurt, and now I am craving Chick-Fil-A...

10 Things I Live For [52 Weeks]

Once again, I am linking up with Becky over at From Mrs to Mama for 52 Weeks of Blogging with a purpose. Though it seems that just like last week, I am a few days later than everyone else posting. Opps.

So without any further delay, here are 10 things I live for in no particular order.

10. Christmas time. Just ask anyone who knows me well and they will tell you that I am a HUGE Christmas fan. I love the season, the weather, the decorations, just everything about Christmas! I love Christmas so much that I start listening to Christmas music in September, and I am usually begging C to let me start decorating in September as well. I would take down the decorations in time to decorate for Halloween and then Thanksgiving. So far, decorating for Christmas in September has been a no every year.

9. Holidays. Now as much as I love Christmas, I love all holidays. 4th of July is probably my 2nd favorite holiday. But I love to get in the spirit of the holiday and decorate until my husband says that is enough. I love celebrating just about anything. And I will make just about anything festive. Waffles, cupcakes, heck, I even coordinate the paper straws I use to match the upcoming holiday.

8. Working out/Getting healthy. Now had you asked me this 5 months ago, this would not be on my list, but Valentine's day, C and I joined a gym, and there has been no turning back. I am not focused on a weight loss goal, but I am more focused on getting healthy. God gave me one body and I am now doing everything I can to keep it healthy and strong so it lasts me as long as possible. Read more about that journey here.

7. Fall. It is no secret that I do not like summer. unless I am on the beach somewhere, I hate summer. It is just too hot. I live live live for Fall when it is time for sweaters, boots, football, camping, hot chocolate, bonfires, and changing leaves. Oh and not to mention my anniversary!! :) Shout out to all the October couples!!

6. Making our house a home. From everything from keeping it clean to repainting the bathroom that we painted just 6 months ago because it wasn't what I wanted to planting pretty flowers outside and everything in between. I love turning the house we live in into a home. I love love love hanging pictures up of us.

5. Learning new things. I didn't finish college. I know, I know. And I want to go back. But I live for learning new things. It could be as simple as learning a new recipe, or as complex as a new crazy math problem. I love the idea of always being able to learn something new. We have that opportunity, and I want to take full advantage of it.

4. My Fur baby, Chaco. Oh this little girl. She may drive me nuts with her barking at midnight, but I love her so. She is the most loving puppy I have ever met. I know that no matter how bad my day has been, she will still run up and jump on me and lick my face if I let her. A lot of people rescue animals, but I do believe that Chaco rescued me and C.

3. My Family. I've got quite a bit of family. We fight and don't get a long most of the time from time to time, but at the end of the day I know that they are all here for me and they would all do anything for me. I don't know where I would be without my family. They help me stay strong when I don't want to be.

2. My husband. The love of my life. The man God had planned for me all along. He is my rock, my cheer leader, my shoulder to cry on, along with many other things (like my water get-er, my light turner off-er, my trash taker out-er). At the end of the day, he is the one I get to lay down next to and wake up next to. He helps me be a better person. He is the love of my life and I don't know where I would be without him.

1. God. I'm a Christian, and I am proud of it. I know I am not the best Christian in the world, I'm human so I  make mistakes, but I know that I serve an awesome, loving and forgiving God.

So there you go. That's just a little bit more you know about me.

Thankful Thursday

It is Thankful Thursday! I am thankful everyday, but I think I am really going to enjoy writing it all out on Thursday, but not every Thursday because we all know that will never happen.

This week I am thunkful for :

**My relationship with God. It is nowhere near as strong as I like, but I am thankful that I have a growing relationship with him.

**My husband. As usual, he gets on my nerves, but at the end of the day, I know he is the most amazing, caring, kind, loving, awesome, silly, wonderful person I have ever met. He brings a new level of joy into my life.

**My family. I am so blessed to have such awesome parents, step parents, siblings, step siblings and future (and possible future) brother in laws. I know that not everyone is blessed with such an amazing family. We have our issues, but we all love  and care about each other and we all want the best for one another. I am so lucky to have each and every one of them in my life and I don't know how I would survive without them.

**The gym. Surprise!! I've been really enjoying my workouts this month. I have been able to pinpoint exact changes in how easy things are for me now compared to how they were when I started this journey.

**My trainer, Court. Basically, she is awesome! Sure sometimes I wish I could make her do the workouts with me because they suck, but I know she is helping me be a better, much healthier version of me. That and she loves shopping just about as much as I do, and she has pretty awesome taste in shoes. I'm so thankful that she is helping me, but I am also thankful that we have become friends throughout the process.

**October. I am so thankful for this month because it is the month that I get to vacation for a week! I am in need of a vacation so bad. I am really looking forward to spending a week on a cruise ship!

I am thankful for so many other things, but I would be here all day typing if I listed them all!

Trying something new. [52 Weeks]

So I am trying something new here. So new in fact that I am probably not even doing it right. Go figure.

Anyway, I am linking up with Becky over at From Mrs to Mama to try out this 52 weeks of blogging with a purpose. My attempt is to actually complete all the weeks. :)

Today though, week 1, is about Who I Am...

*I am a wife, daughter, sister, step-daughter, step-sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, friend and many other things, but most importantly a Daughter of Christ!
*I am a hard worker. Seriously I impress myself sometimes at how hard I work. That may sound shallow...but to be serious, I never imagined I would have the drive I do because I never pictured myself in the position I am in. I never imagined I would love it so much which, in turn, causes me to work extra hard because I want to be and do my best everyday.
*I'm a recovering food addict. Yeah...You can read more of my fitness journey here.
*I am caring. I care about everyone and everything. It is the wonderful gift that God has blessed me with.
*I am a little bit of a goof ball. Special thanks to my husband for helping bring that one out.
*I am proud to be an American.
*I am truly blessed. God has given me such an amazing family, and step family. He has given me the man of my dreams that I get to spend the rest of my life with. He has blessed me with this awesome life, and I am so thankful for all God has done for me. I can't wait to see what God has in the works
for Cal and I!

Oh.my.goodness.

I am about to scream. You know that cute, adorable, sweet, awesome puppy that we have? Yeah, the past 2 nights she has been mean and so not awesome!! This little girl has decided that she is going to wake up at MIDNIGHT and start barking, howling, whimpering and just all around make noise. It is so unlike her! She never makes a peep after about 10 pm.

Chaco is a pit bull mix, with what we think is some lab maybe. She use to be an inside dog until we moved into the house we are in now. Once we buy a home, she will once again become an inside dog,  but for now, she has a fenced in area outside. She even has a nice insulated dog house that my dad and husband built. She doesn't bark at other dogs, or people. She chases cats, and squirrels. She is the most hyper dog I have ever seen. But she has always been a champ when it comes to sleeping.

We ran out of dog food on Sunday, so we bought her a different brand of dog food, because it was a last minute thing. We think that is the problem, and we will be changing her food back to what it was before. But if anyone has any suggestions or tips to help her stop the noise making at such a late hour, please let me know!!!! This girl needs her sleep! I am a complete grouch when I get woken up in the middle of the night!!

June?

It is crazy that June is half way over. I can't believe how fast this year is flying by!! It seems like just yesterday that I was New Year's and I was enjoying the cold weather. Now it is 6, almost 7 months later and I am hating the weather. I hate hot weather. No surprise there.

Sucessful Saturday!

Saturday has been a complete success!! I woke up early so I could use my new awesome waffle maker, and I made C breakfast! I even made homemade syrup and homemade whipped topping! I'm pretty impressed if I do say so myself! I have always loved Crate & Barrel, but I just recently started ordering from them. I should have done that sooner!!!

Breakfast was super yummy, and it was such a great way to start out the day! We then went to work outside, which included fire... Predictable? Probably.

And what is Saturday without something yummy to drink? Special thanks to Jessica over at Little Baby Garvin for the drink recipe. I tweaked it a little to better suit my tastes though. We used 1 bottle of white wine (Mountain Valley White from Mountain Valley in Gatlinburg, TN), 2 cans of Fresca, 1 liter of sparkling water, about 2 cups of orange juice, and fresh fruit (strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, and pineapple)

It was super tasty, and such a wonderful way to spend the afternoon! I am hoping that tomorrow we can continue on with working out in the back yard tomorrow. That or relaxing in the hammocks all day would be fine by me. I hope everyone is enoying their weekend!!

Getting Ready For The Weekend

It's Friday!! It is also the first night of Riverbend!!!!  I am literally counting down the hours! I am pretty sure that work is going to go by so very slow! Once I get off work, I will head to Gigi's to pick up a cupcake for my trainer since her birthday was earlier this week. Then off for a quick training session, then a speed shower and getting ready in hopes that C and I can make it in time to see Florida Georgia Line tonight! Then Jake Owen plays at 9!! Other than the blistering heat, and the horrible crowds, I am really looking forward to going!! However, this adventure causes me to not go home after work. And that makes me sad. I have been patiently waiting on my orders to be shipped. I have a big breakfast planned for C on Saturday morning, and I am anxious to get everything in!! I do believe I am looking forward to this cute little thing more so than anything else! I can't wait to get some fresh fruit and use this little guy!

I hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend!!

Bittersweet Summertime Favorites

I am that girl who had her husband read her The Night Before Christmas a few nights ago. Of coures in true husband fashion, he started reading it, then decided to say something he thought was funny, which I clearly didn't find funny and it ruined the story for me, thus making me mad enough to tell him to shut up and stop reading, that I was going to bed now. Obviously I deserve the best worst wife award. But do I see a "Christmas in July" party happening this year??

Anyone who knows me knows my serious obsession with Christmas. I will seriously try to decorate in September, and leave decorations up until March. I have my reasons for loving the holiday, and the are good reasons, but I am learning that I need to celebrate all holidays equally. So no Christmas decorations up in September, but I seriously think I will add "Christmas in July" to my list of holidays to celebrate. It will only be a weekend long thing, so C doesn't have to worry too much
#endchristmasramblings
It is June folks, which means that it is summertime here in Chattanooga! Riverbend 2013 is rightaroundthecorner, and that means tons of great music, funnel cakes, and thousands of your closest friends all crowded around the riverfront making it my favorite part of summer. This year's line up includes Flordia Georgia Line, Jake Owen, CeeLo Green, Brandy, Newsboys, Dierks Bently, Lynryd Skynyrd, Gavin DeGraw, and O.A.R. After attending last year, C has fallen in love with Riverbend, with good reason, so going this year is not optional. However, we will probably skip seeing CeeLo and Brandy. I am really looking forward to seeing Gavin DeGraw and Jake Owen!

Though it is summer, I am pretty stinkin' bitter about the fact that the weather is hot, and I don't live on the beach. But in any case, I am sucking it up and making the best of it. I am drinking sweet tea peach tea like it is going out of style, and eating fruit by the pound handful. Having some of my favorites around will sure make this summer a little easier to handle.

One - Two - Three - Four

And as always, you have to have fruit in the summer. I prefer strawberries and pineapple.

**You can read more about the pool here. But basically, this thing is going to be great for those weekends spent grilling out and enjoying a few adult beverages outside without dying in the TN heat.

**I use the 100 spf sunscreen. And yes I know what they say about high spf sunscreens. Personally I have never been burnt while using this, so that is what I am sticking to. Personal preferance.

**The hair ties...oh.my.gosh. I was worried they wouldn't hold my hair, but boy was I wrong!!! They are just simply perfect, not for working out though, just everyday life! And all the colors! Talk about one to wear with every outfit. They are a key staple for my summer wardrobe because face it, wearing your hair down in summer is a horrible idea if you are going to be outside all day, so having a cute bracelet that doubles as a hair tie is the perfect solution.

**The lip gloss and body wash, well everyone has raved about them, so it was about time I tried them. I went a little crazy fell in love with both products!! I got the Raspberry Sorbet lip gloss, and it is awesome! And of course, the Magarita scented body wash. Magarita scented anything in the summer is a win in my book!

**Mason jars are a simply a staple for the entire year, but the summer especially! Don't forget to add a cute stripped straw.

**I have about 5 billion 10 pair of sunglasses, and these are my favorite! I have both gold and silver so I can wear them with anything!

So there you have it. Just a few of my favorite things that are going to make this summer a little easier to handle! But it is official, the countdown to fall is on! I am ready for some much cooler weather, football, bonfires, and hot chocolate!
