All Things Red, White and Blue!!

With Memorial Day  just a few days behind us, things have been in full festive swing here in the Long house. I am currently sporting my bright blue Michael Kors purse, the straws are red stripped, and the tea is peach because someone is not drinking sweet tea anymore. It sucks I know. With Memorial Day and 4th of July being the 2 holidays in a row that match in theme really, it just made sense to decorate for them both now. This also means that from here on out, or at least until the festive 'Merica-ness is over, things will be red, white and blue. After finally breaking down to by some shorts that fit since I have lost weight, I came across some super cute U.S.A themed clothes at Old Navy! And I scooped up a few things to wear to show my American pride! My favorite purchase of the night was these cute navy jama' pants with stars! I will be sporting these from now until the 4th!!

I'm not sure about the rest of you guys, but I am looking forward to some fireworks!!

What I learned last night...

I will probably never let my husband paint my toenails for me again...and yes I am aware I have ugly feet. Somehow last night my husband managed to paint my toes, my foot, and the couch. He has blamed it on me, but really, I didn't move my feet for almost an hour so it wasn't me! So I am chalking this us as a lessoned learned...Next time I want my nails done, I won't be asking my husband.

Memorial Day Recap

***First and foremost!!! Thank you to all our active and retired armed service members, but a special thanks to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for their country so that we are able to sleep safe at night. My heart goes out to those families who have loved ones who have sacrificed their lives for our country. I support our troops, and I am thankful for every single one of them.***

Basically...Our weekend in pictures!
It is Tuesday already! Score, but if you are like me and had yesterday off, then that means today is actually Monday and you are cut one day short on your work week. Trying to cram everything you do in a week at work into 4 days is not as much fun as you might think! I got to kick off my 3 day weekend a little early. I got to leave work 2 hours early on Friday! The weather Friday morning was beautiful!! Friday also started a weekend long addiction...Sonic's cherry slush.

Saturday I woke up and headed to the gym for yet another training session, and weigh in. Good news, I have officially lost 20 lbs! After getting home and making out our weekly grocery list, we head out to do some much needed shopping. Turns out I was starving yet again, so we hit up Chili's. Such a great impromptu date! And of course, got my cherry slush fix.

We got home, and ended up staying outside. Of course we can't be outside and not spend time with our beloved Chaco puppy! She got a rare treat of some Frosty Paws, and she devoured savored every last lick. When she finally finished it, she ran in the grass at what seemed like 100 mph. Crazy dog. C finally got a hold of her leash and got her to calm down...for a nanosecond. Saturday also included a little hour long nap and then doing a little gardening.

Our red potatoes are starting to produce!!

Sunday was my monthly sister day, so we were in GA. I'm lucky that my sisters and I make time to spend together at least once a month since I live an hour and a half from them. And my mom comes with us now too which is perfect because I don't get to spend enough time with them! We made kissy faces and went wedding dress shopping for my older sister!! AND good news...WE HAVE A DRESS!!! She looks beautiful and I can't wait to see her all dolled up on her wedding day! Our evening then went into cookout/hang out mode. And in true Moody fashion, we like to blow things up when we all get together, so bring on the fireworks. It's Memorial Day weekend after all!

In the spirit of Memorial day, I decided to sport my blue MK bag!

I love this man!

Ah Monday! The day I was looking forward to most. I was so glad to have a day off. I was sad to leave GA Sunday night, but I had a training session Monday morning. Unfortunately, my trainer was ill, which I hope she got to feeling better. So instead, C and I had a yummy breakfast! And of course, we had festive straws!!

Our plans were to do some major cleaning on a few rooms, then relax in hammocks and the cook out. Well our plans changed. We decided to go pick up a few things, and while out, it turned into wanting strawberries. And not just any strawberries, but Tidwell berries, so to Dayton we went. These are by far the best strawberries I have had since last year!!!!

We spent the rest of the day cleaning, gardening, and cooking out. I was lucky enough to get to spend Memorial Day with not just the usual brother that is here, but also my youngest brother!! It was great to spend time with them both!

We also got one of our wine bottle tiki torches to work which was perfect for...

Our new patio pool!! Haha. yes, we are those people.  Don't judge. But really, who doesn't want a "soaking pool" on their back deck!! It is funny, we know this. But in reality, if you know us, it isn't a surprise at all!

But like I said earlier, it is Tuesday, and like I have all year, I have a huge since of American pride. So after decorating a little for Memorial Day/4th of July, I decided to stick with my festive straws!

I hope everyone had a safe and fantastic Memorial Day Weekend!

Anniversary Cruise

In 5 short months, C and I will be taking a much needed week long vacation. We will be on our first week long cruise, and don't worry, we aren't traveling with Carnival. Nope, I am a Royal Caribbean snob I guess... I am overly excited about it!! Since C and I have been married, our "alone" vacations have been our week long honeymoon in Gatlinburg, TN, a short weekend for C's birthday in Gatlinburg, TN, and earlier this year, a short weekend cruise to the Bahamas. We have been on several trips with family, but just a few with just each other. Now October is going to be looking pretty nice if you ask me. The first weekend we are going white water rafting and horse back riding and staying in Ocoee, TN that weekend. The following weekend we will travel to Ellijay, GA like we do every year for apples and pumpkins. This year, we will hit the Apple festival, so I am talk C into going the last weekend in September. I guess it just depends. And then the next weekend we will spend Saturday traveling down to Coco Beach, FL so we are just 20 minutes away from the ship when we board on Sunday. I am so excited I can hardly stand it!!! I have already started packing in my head.
My thoughts are that with my fitness journey, I should be really close to my goal weight by the time the cruise rolls around. I am finding out now that all my clothes that I have in my closet right now are actually a little too big, and the clothes I have from 2 years ago are a little too small, so it looks like new clothes will be in order for this vacation!! :) I can't wait!!
Some of the items on my packing list include :
*shoe organizer, hamper, over the door shoe organizer - to help keep the room in order while taking up basically no space in my suitcase
* a killer swimsuit from VS as a gift to myself for working out so hard
*a new formal dress for the first formal night
*a Little Black Dress for our anniversary dinner
*sunscreen because we don't want to get sun burnt :)
*a small alarm clock, because on the last cruise we didn't get our wake up calls like we were supposed to, and because we slept through most of one day...
*extra camera batteries, because on our last cruise, my camera was just about dead by the last day
*workout wear because I will have worked so hard for the body I will have at the time, and I will gain 10 lbs from all the pizza and ice cream I will eat if I don't work out some on the trip
*a good attitude!! because we will be on VACATION BABY!!!
I will be posting an official packing list as we get closer to the actual cruise!

Mud Run and a New Watch!

So April just flew by! And May is off to the very same start! I litterally looked at the calender to see that it is already MAY 8TH!! **Shout out to my M, my brother in law in the making!! It is his birthday!!**But seriously that means that May is already almost 1/3 over!!!! Good news is that means 4th of July is so much closer, and I can't wait to decorate!! But the last weekend of April included a wonderful trip to Dalton, GA so C could run the Superhero Scramble. It was awesome!! I also got to watch a beautiful story unfold, as a man who lost his leg in a motorcycle accident about a year ago finished the race! Superman Walks (look them up on Facebook) helped this man through the race, and as he completed on of the last obstacles, he saw his family there at the end waiting on him to finish. He is from FL, and he had no idea his family was there. It was really a moving story. I won't even try to tell you anymore about it because I would just ruin the beauty of it.
So on to C, he and his dad and brother ran the race. It took them about an hour and a half. And you have to remember, it was in North Georgia, so the hills were killer!! But they had a blast, and I was very jealous that I didn't get to run as well! Next year.
But now for a few photos!

He was very excited!

My Captain America :)

Waiting to start

I don't think I could have done this!!

Now here is where they really got dirty!

And I do believe that C kicked his dad in the face...

NOW!!! if you aren't following my fitness journey, then here is a little update!!
This beautiful beautiful beautiful Michael Kors watch is what I gifted myself with when I finally hit under 200 lbs!! :) I went by the scale at home and not the one at the gym, so I got it a little earlier than I would have if I had waited for the gym scale. My scale at home is usually 2 lbs heavier than the gym scale, so when it came in under 200 lbs, that is when I said, screw it, I want that watch today!! :) So, needless to say, I have been wearing this bad boy out!! :) I hope everyone had a great April!!
